Our Programs

Duration: Monday - Friday Timings: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

01

Parent-Toddler

This program helps the toddlers attending the school for the first time to settle in comfortably in company of the parent. It is an opportunity for the parent to experience the Montessori philosophy first hand. It allows the parent and child to be part of the prepared environment and experience age appropriate activities. The program has no fixed duration. Once the child is comfortable and walks sturdily can be moved to the toddler program.

02

Toddler

This is a first experience of a child to explore schooling independently. The focus on the Toddler Program is to cultivate their growing need for independence, order, sensory exploration, movement and language. As with any Montessori environment, the children’s activities are set out to entice the child to discover and explore. Toddlers work independently, or in small groups, and are introduced to each material at the appropriate time for their individual development.

03

Pre-Primary

The absorbent mind at work! The preschool is an attractive and carefully planned environment, geared to the size, pace and developmental needs of children aged 2 and a half to 6 years old. This child-centered community encourages children to integrate all aspects of their personality and to develop a good self-esteem. The activities in the classroom are divided into several areas. There are the practical life activities intended for exploration of sounds, shapes.

We welcome kids into our 2-4’s program based on their birth year.

Why us

The best early learning experience

At Peace, we believe in helping children become independent learners. Working within mixed-age groups, they learn important social skills and cultivate empathy. They have the freedom to explore their environment, work with and learn from particular materials for as long as they wish. They choose how long to engage with an activity and their process of concentration is never disturbed - the value of which was considered sacred by Dr. Maria Montessori. Activities are introduced in progression and with each child's individual style of learning and pace in mind. They are encouraged to repeat the activity and interpret its outcomes themselves. The adults in their learning environment do not correct any 'mistakes', rather, by repetition, budding problem solving skills and perseverance, the child is able to figure it out on their own, all while developing language and number literacy because of the materials. Instead of being praised simply for a particular outcome, the child's effort is acknowledged by the adult so that they may feel ownership, and so, be mindful of their actions. They are treated with respect as they slowly build the foundations of adults that will shape the future of the world.

An activity is introduced individually to every child catering to his style of learning and then the child is encouraged to repeat the work and deduce his own outcomes. Mistakes are not corrected by the adult , child figures it out himself through repetition thus helping him build his problem solving , analytical skills, and perseverance.
Language and number litracy is a byproduct of all the efforts that the child is making while working with materials.
Children are working on building their character block by block and hence are never disturbed by the adult.
We do not believe in praising the child for work done rather their effort is acknowledged by the adult leading to feeling of ownership of their action. This slowly translates into child being mindful of his actions .
Children are treated with a lot of respect as they are constructing themselves – the adult who will shape the future of the world.

My vision of the future is no longer people taking exams and proceeding then on that certification . . . but of Individuals passing from one stage of independence to a higher [one], by means of their own activity through their own effort of will, which constitutes the inner evolution of the individual.

Our Curriculum

Our classroom (also known as prepared environment) is divided into several areas characterized by low open shelves, one for each area of the curriculum: Practical Life, Sensorial, Mathematics, Language & Culture.

Practical Life

Practical Life activities are designed to engage children in real life daily routines. This helps children develop a care for themselves, the environment and each other. These activities will strengthen their fine and gross motor skills and lengthen their concentration span through repetition of work. Children learn how to do things from pouring and cooping, using various kitchen utensils, dressing themselves, tying shoe laces etc.

Mathematics

In the Mathematics area children are introduced to materials that encourage their continuous learning in the world of numbers. They are taught quantity, solving problems in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as counting to infinitive numbers. Children go from a very solid understanding of math to a more abstract concept. For example, the children understand the difference between 1, 10, 100 and 1000 because they have felt it countless times through concrete materials

Sensorial

The objective in the Sensorial area is to aide in the development of the child’s 5 senses. Materials are designed to isolate a single character of each sense. The child will experience the discrimination of weight, differences of color and different intonations of sound through proper use of the materials. For example, colors are not taught by having the child think of everything that is blue – blue jeans, the sky, icebergs, a picture of a blue cartoon elephant hanging on a wall. Colors are taught with the color tablets. The color tablets are all exactly the same except for one thing – their color in the middle. This helps take away the confusion for the child and helps them to focus on specifically what blue is.

Culture

Cultural activities expose the child to basics in geography, history, and life sciences. Music, art, and movement education are part of the integrated cultural curriculum. Children at the early childhood age are very detail-oriented & our science materials help them learn the various body parts of a bird or the life cycle of different animals. Children learn about the diversity of the world through an integrated curriculum of history & geography.

Music & Art

Music & art are an integral part of our environment. Singing, dancing & arts and crafts provide opportunities for your child to express his/her own uniqueness. Painting, color mixing, collage and paper folding are just some of the activities provided to encourage creativity and just to have fun!

Spiritual Development

Yoga & meditation routines promote a healthy regimen & allow the child a profound realization of self. To instill the concept of a green & clean environment, we encourage the children to care & nurture for plants in our environment.

Peace Montessori did a great job in moving to online teaching environment. We could really see the amount of effort the teachers put in to move everything online, including providing necessary materials to each student. We could not remember even a single day where there was any kind of hiccup, everything was managed pretty smoothly. It was our daughters last year in Peace Montessori and we were pretty concerned how the transition will take place for her since we had to move online, but the school made sure that she had complete support and attention to transition to Grade 1. It is amazing that Montessori syllabus was actually covered so well in the online mode. The teachers at peace are extremely adaptable and accommodating to child's need and we are so happy that our daughter got the opportunity to start her educational journey at Peace, be in offline or online. Special thanks to Jyoti and Deepali for giving more than 100% for students' sake.

Dear Teachers, I want to thank you all for the love and encouragement you have given to Sarah. I am so glad Sarah got to spend a year and a half in Peace. It really is the best school. I really appreciate how you treat the children with so much respect and how invested you are in all the children. When we would walk to school I would see the children in the big school being herded around like cattle and feel so grateful for the loving way in which the teachers and mausis treat our children. Sarah has learnt so much in her time in Peace. I can see the graciousness sessions have made Sarah very polite. She can also do so much by herself. And she can play by herself , which is a blessing in these tough times. Peace is like a big family and it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye. Sarah and I will both have very fond memories of her time here. I wish you all the best and I hope the school keeps growing and shaping many young personalities. You have a great thing going!

After we have shifted living from oversea, here is my daughter’s first school in India. We joined this Peace Montessori(“Peace”) when she was 2 years old.At that time, we were looking for a small scale school in order to make her settle down smoothly with expected kind treatment by teachers and other children.Frankly we had visited& inquired many other schools nearby before we decided the Peace, and then finally in the Peace we felt very good inside atmosphere.Of course we had struggled to make her settle staying here at the beginning honestly, however teachers at the Peace have been very perseveringly treating with her and made it by child led. This was very impressed for me and would be purely followed by the educational method of Montessori. Now she does demand to go school, and is very happy to work at the Peace.Relating this point, she got India friends here and started understanding English and local language a little with local song etc., which I wish she to feel local culture as well.In my eyes, with the Montessori philosophy the Peace has, children work individually mainly in addition to separate circle time with all children, which means training to become their independence. And also the Peace has the parent community meal for lunch and it’s great concept for our kids to provide the healthy and safe homemade food items.Additionally, even though I mentioned the Peace is small school, they have many field trips nearby and special events such as Sport day, Sleepover, etc. Finally I would recommend the Peace for not only Indian but also foreign children as international Montessori school, and we appreciate the team of Peace very much !

My son is in peace in his final year. We joined peace when he was 3 years old and we had just moved from London. I was looking for a school which would mean a smooth and easy transition for him. When I saw peace I was instantly impressed with the environment. Although the space looks small, it's well organized and very peaceful. It's an intellectually stimulating and a genuine Montessori environment and the teachers are warm, friendly and confident leaders. The school being a Montessori is truly child led. My child always had the freedom to choose activities laid out without any pressure. He was allowed to explore, ask questions and develop at his own pace. The last 2 years have transformed him into a very creative, patient and independent individual. He takes great pride in doing self-care & household work independently. Practical life tasks like cleaning, dressing, cooking, chopping, ironing, caring for nature, recycling are usually perceived as chores but they form the foundation of Montessori in the early years. it has not only helped increase his concentration span but also inculcated a sense of responsibility. As regards academics, there's a lot of material:- scientific and Cognitive for language & math. My son has learnt to perform many complex tasks due to exposure to the Montessori materials & the way of teaching.Children in this school are treated with respect, Grace & courtesy that are the essence of the Montessori philosophy. The school not only encourages freedom for kids but also for parents. There is so much transparency between the parents & school that any & every concern is put to rest. My parenting got a completely new perspective. They are an ocean of knowledge and upbeat with contemporary teaching techniques & modern parenting challenges.Jyoti, Gauri, Deepali & the team are extremely dedicated and passionate about their work. They have a special relationship with each child and personally work on every child's progress. The school truly believes in working together with parents in the interest of the optimum progress of the child. They don't have an outdoor play space but they do arrange outdoor field trips quite often when possible. And personally, for us the other benefits of Montessori methodology & the school outweighed the space issue. We have developed a great bond of trust over a period of time. I'm so thankful & grateful to have found a home away from home for my son. We'll miss them sorely.

Our son has had a wonderful experience at Peace. The team at Peace Montessori (headed by Jyoti Ma'am) is extremely experienced and dedicated. The focus from day one was on holistic development and sensorial learning, in line with the true Montessori principles and methodology. The specially designed activities helped my son feed his innate curiosity. The teachers encouraged my son to try new food (he is a fussy eater) and got him interested in doing new things. Special thanks to Jyoti Ma'am, Deepali Ma'am and Gauri Ma'am!

We were looking for an alternate method of learning (Montessori or Steiner) for our 2.5 years daughter and foundPeace Montessori school (after searching extensively) in Hiranandani, Powai. We are quite happy and satisfied with the overall growth and development of our child after she started attending the Peach Montessori. The school follows genuine Montessori method and does not mix up other methods of teaching (like many other schools that run on the name of Montessori). Our child actually looks forward to going to school everyday. Some of the advantages we found with going with Peace Montessori are listed below:1) Since the school follows purely Montessori method, it provides a natural and self learning environment to every child2) The teacher student ratio is good and they don't take a lot of students just to increase numbers. Personal attention to each student is commendable3) Emphasis on practical learning rather than just mugging numbers and alphabets4) There is ample arts and craft activity that the child is exposed to and we really like this approach as it nudges the creative mind of the child5) Teachers at Peace are also very experienced and passionate for their work. We also feel completely safe to send our daughter to the school6) Above all, the school method teaches the child to be independent in all aspects, which will really be helpful in the long run for the child as they grow up to be more confident and independent individualsWe would be happy to recommend peace Montessori to anyone looking for a genuine Montessori school.🙂

My son goes to Peace Montessori. We relocated from the Philippines where he attended a montessori school previously. He transitioned very smoothly, thanks to Peace following the Montessori methods quite accurately. The teachers and helpers help kids adapt to the new ambiance very easily. Apart from this, there is the community meal plan which helps kids adapt to different cuisines (vegetarian meals) and children learn to not only eat independently but also a wide variety of nutritious foods. Peace does field trips, outdoor classes, and many activities which have been great. I am looking forward to my son exploring more with Peace. Keep up the good work Team Peace.
